Kayla Update

We were so excited to hear from Kayla's new family!

I just wanted to let you know Kayla is doing great. She is the most awesome dog ever. I love, love, love her. She has gotten so much attention and love in the past few days. Her personality is really beginning to shine. We gave her a mallard duck and she is just starting to mouth it and be really playful. She is awesome with the kids and licks their feet and hands. She is a love. She sleeps on her doggy bed next to me at night and follows me wherever I go. We love her so very much!

Kayla and Inga Adopted

Kayla and Inga went off to their new homes on Friday! Inga was adopted by one of our favorite volunteer families, so she is right in Medfield and we know we will be getting frequent updates on her. Kayla moved to NH with a very nice family who understands what a sweet and special girl she is. They don't live far from the ocean, so there should be lots of swimming for her when the weather warms up.

Here she is sporting the Comfy Cone she has to wear for a few weeks to keep her from licking at her spay incision. She hated the regular e-collar, but didn't seem to mind the Comfy Cone.

Autumn is really Missy

When the vet checked Autumn for a microchip today they discovered she had one, but her owner had never bothered to register it. An unregistered microchip is a lot like no microchip, but after a few phone calls he owner was located and she will be going home on Friday. Her real name is Missy, and she ran away from home 3 weeks ago. She is apparently quite an escape artist and can turn door knobs.

Puppies all in homes! Autumn arrived

All 6 puppies are now in homes! Big thanks to all of our dedicated volunteers who helped clean puppy poop, give them baths and socialize them while they were with us.

We took in a German Shepherd from the Brockton dog pound today. We named her Autumn. She is going to the vet to be spayed and vaccinated tomorrow. The photos were taken before she had her bath, so she is even prettier now.

Fergie, Fergus, Fran and Fido off to new homes

Four of the Setter mix puppies have gone off to their new homes, and the other two have had meetings with potential families and hope to go soon. We are looking forward to receiving updates and photos so we can see what they look like when they grow up.

Sam the Lab/Beagle is still looking for a home, and Brownie, the chocolate Lab is having x-rays of his hips when he is neutered on Thursday so we can figure out why he walks so strangely.

Monte Gets a Sister

Hard to believe this adorable photo was taken only hours after little Monte went to try out a new home. I guess he will fit in just fine!

Monte Passes the Cat Test

Several of the people interested in adopting Monte asked if he was good with cats, so we tested him today. Using our faithful cat tester, Missy, we let them meet with Missy safely inside a dog crate. That went well, so we let them meet with Monte on a leash. He was far more interested in meeting Missy than she was in meeting him, but she clearly thought he was no threat. They spent quite a while loose in the lobby together, and later Missy was seen eating out of Monte's dinner bowl!
