Spay/Neuter Truly Saves Lives

Here is Shelter resident Missy deep in thought calculating some statistics. Let's see . . . Thanks to responsible cat owners, partnering veterinarians, adopters, Medfield Shelter supporters and volunteers, the Medfield Animal Shelter spayed/neutered 51 cats in ONE week. That saves the lives of countless cats and that's great news for cats and for people who care about cats! Did you know that a cat can get pregnant as early as 4 months of age? And did you also know that one male and one female cat and their offspring can produce nearly 12,000 cats in 5 years? Spay/neuter is important. Each time a cat is spayed or neutered, it makes it easier for a cat in a shelter to find a home. Thank you to all the responsible pet owners who spay/neuter their pets. Spay/neuter truly saves lives.
